Adrian Mutu

Adrian Mutu is a forward, born on 8 January 1979 in the Romanian town Călinești.

In 1996 Mutu began his professional career, having signed a contract with Argeș Pitești. During three seasons the footballer performed in 41 matches, scoring 11 goals for the first team.

In 1999 Adrian moved to Dinamo Bucuresti, where he had an excellent season, scoring 22 goals in 33 matches. Thanks to his brilliant performances, Mutu attracted the attention of Italian club Internazionale Milano, which he joined in 2000. After 10 unsuccessful games for Inter, Mutu left for Verona, where the Romanian footballer managed to redeem himself. In two seasons Mutu played 57 matches, scoring 16 goals for Verona.

In 2002, the footballer signed a contract with Parma, where he spent the 2002/2003 season. This period was very successful in Adrian’s career, he scored 18 goals in 31 games. In 2003, Adrian transferred to Chelsea, playing there for one and a half year. During this period the Romanian striker scored 6 goals in 27 matches. In January 2005, Mutu signed a contract with the Italian club Juventus, where he spent one and a half year, appearing in 33 games and netting 7 goals.

In 2006, Adrian received an offer from Fiorentina, in which he played for the following five years. During this long time, Adrian performed in many games. The head coach didn’t always use Mutu in the starting lineup, but every time he came in on the pitch, Adrian distinguished himself by putting it at the back of the net. In total, the player netted 54 goals in 112 matches for Fiorentina.

In the summer of 2011, the Romanian striker signed for Cesena, where he successfully started the 2011/2012 season. He immediately became a key striker, appearing in 28 games and netting 8 goals.

In August 2012 Mutu joined French club Ajaccio.

In January 2014 Mutu returned to Romania and joined Petrolul.

From 1995 to 2000, Adrian Mutu took part in 28 matches and netted 14 goals for the Romanian youth team, exactly, the U-16, U-18 and U-21. Since 2000, Adrian has benn capped for the Romanian national team.
